The “Fails“, unavoidable risks of the practice of a sport!
Which extreme sport practitioner has never fallen or injured himself superficially or more seriously during training or competition? None ! Whether you are a passionate amateur or a professional athlete, progressing in your discipline always rhymes with multiple training sessions and therefore the risk of falls or accidents! Non-existent are the pilots, all disciplines combined, who have not tested once in their life “bowls, falls, accidents, off-tracks or unexpected encounters…“. Often superficial, these "Fails" can unfortunately be more serious, lead to heavy physical consequences and require substantial, sometimes superhuman efforts to be able to practice your passion again.
Nietzsche and optimism...
If the expression “What does not kill makes me stronger“ most often attributed to the German philosopher Nietzsche, in an 1888 text, in Twilight of the Idols, concerns humans in general, it applies particularly to top athletes who use this axiom as a guideline to return to the front of the stage after serious accidents. From Niki Lauda (Three-time F1 World Champion), to Amaury Pierron (Twice Downhill Mountain Bike World Champion), via Scott Murray (FMX X-Game Champion), many riders have proven, against all medical opinions, that they were able to come back even stronger and step onto the top step of the podium again! Inspiring life lessons even if in many cases, fortunately, for the vast majority of practitioners, falls, accidents and road trips do more harm to the ego than to their physical integrity...
Fucking Ride: "What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger"
The Fucking Ride brand was born from the desire to claim with humor and a lot of hindsight, its own "Fails" or those of its idols. As a regular practitioner of many extreme sports since his adolescence (Motorcycling, Skateboarding, downhill mountain biking, Snowboarding, Wind-surfing, etc.) with numerous accidents to his credit (including 11 just on a motorcycle), the creator of the brand noticed that it was rare, during an exchange between practitioners of the same extreme sport (amateurs or professionals), that they did not come to mention their various accidents or falls. In many cases, moreover, the latter simply show the videos of these or the photos of their stay in the emergency room. In the same way, fans of pilots or professional athletes, all disciplines combined, are in the vast majority of cases able to evoke the "Fails" of the latter with many supporting details (type of accident , date, circumstance, circuit, event, consequences, etc.). It was enough to give him the desire to create a brand of t-shirts dedicated to "Fails" only, so that everyone can claim with style, the difficulty of progressing and excelling in a discipline.
